Canon EOS C100 Cinema Camera

Major camera brands are constantly launching new cameras and it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of them all. The good news is if you are in no rush to upgrade your old DSLR you can just watch and wait as the camera manufacturers compete with each other for your attention. But at some point you are going to be tempted to take the plunge. Now your wait maybe over…a camera has come along that may make you decide to buy. It is the Canon EOS C100 cinema camera and its price is half the price of its bigger brother the C300, around US$7,000. The C100 has been optimized for run–and-gun style of shooting and is 15% smaller that the C300 but retains the same form factor making it the perfect camera for one-man-band operations. It also has the same Super 35mm-Size CMOS sensor that Canon designed especially for the C300 and sports many features you would expect to find on a traditional video camera such as built-in ND filters and dual XLR inputs. If storytelling is your prime objective then this may be the camera you have been looking for. Here is a short film shot with the Canon EOS C100 cinema camera.
